I have recently redone my site’s theme to better reflect my theme as an author. I write fantasy, so I wanted it to look like you were entering a fantasy world. I wanted it to be enchanted, dangerous, thrilling. I included a colorful, vibrant fairy with the words, “Take the Leap”. It means exactly that. Take a leap into my worlds. The colors were very important to me. I experimented with pastel colors, gothic colors (since most of my fantasy stories venture into dark places), and also lots of greens. I finally settled on the one you see now because I think it shows a good balance between the dark and light that you can find in my characters and worlds. My goal is for this to look stunning enough that people want to stick around and explore the site. I have also kept it fairly simple with the tabs. There’s an About me page, my books, blog where there’s reviews/updates, and a short description about the publishing house name I created for myself: Celtic Blossoms Press. I didn’t want to overload the site with stuff that people become lost in the sea of words. That’s also why when you scroll down there’s only a few things to see. I feature my most recent book, then there’s the dedicated section of my most troublesome characters so that you can get to know them a little better. I thought that was a fun thing to add. Readers want to feel connected to characters.
I do want to add my Mailerlite newsletter signup form, but I have to figure out where I want it to be on here. Do I want it to pop up as soon as you visit the site, or do I want it to sit at some permanent spot on the site? I’ll figure it out through trial and error as they say. If anyone wants to suggest which one they like to see, I’m happy to hear it. I think this is the final redesign of my site. I like it a lot. I spent too much time on redesigning my site, revamping my books, that I never get any new writing accomplished. And I won’t be sharing actual writing/book release updates on here because that is exclusive to my newsletter subscribers. The most I’ll share here is the struggles of writing. Maybe my love-hate relationship with Photoshop.
Take care everyone. There are tons of book reviews that I need to write and share with everyone.
