My chat with Talen, Kip, and Prince Remy!
Me: Hello, everyone. Let’s start with you, Talen. Tell us about yourself?”
Talen: “Okay. I am Talen Dragniss, daughter of a wrongfully accused man who is the king’s prized hunter.”
Me: “And the dragon?”
Talen: “This is Kip. Only I can hear his words.” (a cough comes from Remy) “Pay him no mind.”
Remy: “Excuse me, but I am the prince.”
(Kip makes funny dragon sounds)
Me: I take it you two do not like each other.”
Talen: “I like him well enough that I am forced to travel with him.”
Remy: “I think you secretly like me a lot. I remember our conversation back at the party. A party I might remind you was thrown for us. In an attempt to get us together.”
Talen: “Which clearly did not happen. You see what I have to put up with.”
Me: “Kip, do you like the prince?”
(Kip licks his lips at Remy)
Talen: “Kip, you can understand her?” (“Of course I can understand her, Talen. She has been with us since the beginning. She is what we would call in the dragon world a watcher. Someone of the divine realm. A great person) “He can be strange at times.”
Remy: “If you truly know all, watcher, then you can tell me what happens between Talen and me? Do we get together?”
Me: “I think it’s best that I let you two figure that out.”
Talen: “Don’t sulk. It makes you look like a child. And if I were to consider marrying you, I’d like for you to be a man. You are what… 22 now?”
Remy: “We are 23. We are on a special quest, watcher. As you already know. I don’t trust the Marksman. I don’t like that he must travel with us. Talen likes him. I can guess why.”
Me: “You seem upset over more than Talen liking the Marksman.”
Remy: “I don’t want to be king. I don’t like how some things I remember and other things I don’t. Talen feels the same. Why is it that Talen and I have altered memories?”
Me: “I am afraid that I can’t be the one to tell you why. All will be revealed when you make it to the Veiled Haven.”
Remy: “You sound like Talen.”
Talen: “Whatever you do, kind scribe, please don’t let me end up with this one.”
Me: “I cannot get in the way of fate and destiny.”
Remy: “I knew it!”
Talen: “I cannot bear another second with this prince. He is spoiled, uneducated, and a nuisance.”
Remy: “Hold your tongue, subject.”
(Kip latches onto Remy’s leg.)
Me: “Oh, Kip, she deserved it.”
(Kip lets go of Remy’s leg.)
Remy: “I swear that she makes the dragon attack me. She likes to pretend that she hates me.”
Me: “Be careful on your quest. Not everyone is out to help you.”
Talen: “You are kind. Farewell, watcher.”
Remy: “Yes, farewell.”
Me: (pets Kip) “I shall do my best to keep you on the right path.”
